While walking around the area in search of gifts for family, we stumbled upon this cozy and classy little tea shop. The tea shop appears to be family owned and both the wife and husband were extremely kind and helpful. The wife helped us pick tea, speaking a little English, and was very encouraging towards our own attempts at French. In addition to buying tea to go, we also had a cup on the spot. The tea was great and the environment was warm and relaxing, with jazz music playing in the background. Lastly, the store has a nice selection of different Belgian sweets (chocolate, cookies, etc.) from other businesses if tea is, well, not your cup of tea.
Overall, this tea house is an amazing gem nestled in a rather busy and occasionally touristy area that should not be missed.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tara N.North Vancouver, Canada582182528 janv. 2017
Beautiful teashop with large selection of Marriage Freres teas... You can purchase loose leaf or teabags.
They also have delicious sweets and chocolates. Hmmmmmm
The interior is quaint and cozy.
Lovely couple helped me with selecting teas and I left with a bag full of goodies.
Highly recommend this shop!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Linda S.'s-Hertogenbosch, Pays-Bas1718 oct. 2012
I only live in Brussels for two weeks now and was in urgent need of some good sweet treats. I read about this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try with a visiting friend of mine. The place is bigger than it appears to be at first sight, don't be afraid to go upstairs and sit in the relaxing sofa or at one of the cute little tables.
We ordered tea for two and you have a very wide ranges of flavors to choose from. We also asked what the pastries of the day were of course and got treated with a piece of speculoos cheesecake. I have to admit that I've had better cheesecakes (after the Cheesecake factory in the US, it's hard to find cheesecake that can compete) but it sure was delicious, the piece was huge and worth the money.
Go here as a break of your shopping in the crowded Nieuwstraat and become totally relax again. I'm sure I'll come here more often; with visiting friends or just to read a book on one of Brussels' many rainy afternoons.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Adélaïde C.Bruxelles6458 janv. 2014
I've been walking this street for a couple of year without ever daring to push that door... it's been done, and luckily!
From outside you wonder if there is any free space to move in the shop because it's so full of everything : chocolates (a lot), tea (a lot, from Mariage Frères), cakes, teapots (they don't sell it) and many many things you would wish to see in such a place.
I got a teapot (Bouddha bleu green tea) and a cake with tangerine&almonds.
in the end you can find it quite expensive (8€ for these 2) but it worth the pay, from time to time!
The owner (?) is a lady so friendly : just with her looking at you, you feel you're at home, and then she takes time to answer any of your questions (as waiters should do, but in a more friendly way than usual) and to bring you your order while telling you some details you fell that it's been made for you only (obviously not, but why not believing it, for 20 minutes?)
And the last thing : when you leave, the card is made with a small place mat! :)Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Cat H.Saratoga, États-Unis4550166 août 2013
This tearoom and sweet shop was recommended by my lonely planet book and I loved it! It is near the zinneke pis and offers a wide range of teas and pastries - perfect for sharing. My sister and I split a crumble rhubarb pie and tried the Thè des Impressionnistes (a floral scented green tea). There are many tables and chairs and upstairs seating. The environment is very cozy, which a lovely view of the rain outside.

Very nice place to have a tea with cake, or just buy some MARIAGE FRERES tea... as usual, the latter is pricey, but I cannot resist Marco Polo, their star blend !
