A nicely kept, fairly difficult course. The greens are in good shape.
However, the signage on the course is virtually nonexistent. We got lost three times looking for the next tee. Asked another cart only to find they were lost too. Very frustrating. We play lots of golf but this course was a new low in layout and signage. PS. Get a cart.
Two years later we went back. Very sad to see the state of the course. Every course on the north shore is lush from the rains but not the Meadow. Either the greenskeeper isn't s greenskeeper or the city is not giving them money to maintain the course. The fairways are patches of grass surrounded by thousands of divots. The place needs mowing by professionals. Scrapes and scalps everywhere. The rough is all clover and ridiculously high. We lost seven balls that were a couple of feet off the fairway. Not a fun place to play. At least the signage is better.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - John F.Somerville, États-Unis0318 mai 2023

Great course. Fairly difficult. Golf carts were very nice and were equipped with touchscreens which included scorecards and hole flyovers which were very helpful. Greens were perfectly kept. Would recommend.

I'm giving this a 2 because the staff was friendly. That's about it. The conditions were below average and very patchy. The tee boxes looked like the safari. The most frustrating part of the course was the acceptance of slow play. We played 15 holes in 5 hours and were told it's a normal scenario. The ranger is no where to be found and does not promote fast play.
Overall decent course if your in no rush but I'll certainly never be playing it again.
If the starter is reading this we were the 1220 tee time today.
Also the front desk didn't know what condiments were when we got a hot dog.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - John m.Boston, États-Unis23258 oct. 2020
Exceptionally well kept and a joy to play at. These bad reviews are idiotic. Nice to meet you yesterday Peter. -The brothers.

Challenging track ( especially the 4th hole- uphill) in good condition and worth the price. Walking is not recommended and be prepared for a lot of blind shots. Playing the course a second time should see lower scores knowing pitfalls. Back 9 very different from front 9. Limited snack bar but sandwiches are generous and very good.

If I could give zero stars I would. I've never written a yelp review for any business but I feel I can't let this go without others knowing how unprofessional this place is. My friend booked a tee time days in advance. However, apparently his card didn't go through. You would think a simple phone call would suffice to tell him that it didn't go through so he could try the card again but no they would rather wait and make us drive all the way to the course (I live in Boston) to tell us we were canceled. It would not be an understatement when I say this employee "Ray" took pleasure in telling us that we were canceled. When I asked why we didn't get a phone call he stated that "that was above his pay grade". Also, apparently my friend had a tee time for the Sunday before and he didn't show up which Ray then complained about how he was a "no show" saying "next time show up and this won't happen". My friend did cancel and had the cancellation email in which Ray wanted nothing to do with. He then went over to another player that was apparently a regular at the course and started boasting and laughing about how he just canceled us. I was in complete utter shock at the unprofessionalism of this employee Ray. I will never go back to this course the conditions are horrendous as it is but on top of it you to deal with employees like Ray.
Stay far away from this place.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - John S.Stoneham, États-Unis71651831 juil. 2015
Three stars may be generous (we didn't care for it) but it was our first time playing here and we did only play the back 9.
We walked the back (3.5 miles). George Wright is a long course but usually walks out to 6 miles. 3.5 for the back at the Meadows with constant hills was tough. Lots of separation from green to next tee, from 17 to 18 was a long and tough walk. We didn't see anyone else walking and exercise is part of the reason to be out there for me.
The Meadows? Should be called The Hills. We walk Mt Hood in Melrose all the time and this is a much tougher and longer walk. I didn't know Peabody had hills like this. Very scenic on a few holes. You can see ocean on one hole.
Tight layout and blind shots make for a tough first impression. Many, many blind shots to unknown landing areas. Many elevated greens. Local knowledge is a must.
Long - we played from the Blues but on several of the holes we were at the Championship tee box (193 yd par 3).
Because of the layout of the hills, tight fairways and blind shots, pace of play on weekends must be very slow.
Going to play here for a first time? Bring a local, buy a yardage book and bring plenty of golf balls. And remember, it's better than working.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dean N.Wilmington, États-Unis2611822 août 2019
I belong to a local club and due to a tourney, needed a course to play on. Why anyone would play this course makes no sense when Beverly and other public courses are available. First off, the "gentlemen" who work their (starter, etc.) are absolutely rude and clueless. It was like dealing with the department of motor vehicles - clearly they must know somebody to have gotten (and keep) these jobs. Certain parts of the course smell like sewage, (2nd Tee and others), the rough are basically fields of dirt and weeds, and what they consider interesting/challenging are akin to getting the by the windmill on a mini-golf course. I am not a pro (14 handicap), and maybe it would all be tolerable if the people were courteous, but they are not.
