This review is for the museum only.
This place is not worth the stop. I follow an Instagram account that had recently posted a few photos of the exhibit here. I was excited to enjoy another museum, especially one with furniture and not contemporary art! haha
After finding the museum (buried in the buildings without a real decent amount of signage or direction provided) we entered to find a very small entry desk. We were asked to leave our water bottles at the desk. This was odd since every museum I've been to allows you to carry them and drink in specified areas. Once I entered into the "museum" however, it became VERY clear why they had us check our bottles.
The museum is tiny.
Imagine moving into an apartment or small home and purchasing a few new pieces of furniture before moving in all of your belongings. Then invite your friends over.
You've just experienced this museum.
Needless to say, I was not a fan.
If you are in the area, I mean already parked and a close walk, stop by. After all, it's free.
DO NOT go out of your way however to go to this museum.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - 37462254585924 févr. 2016
Science nerds have an artistic side too, and aside from photography, I like to go to museums and check out the works of great artistic minds.
My friend and I found this place as we were taking a stroll in West Hollywood. We walked to the other side of West Hollywood Park, and realized there was some closed event going on here. I noticed that this was a design center, and would probably have some artwork worthy of a 5 star review.
I was right. The art here has a wide variety of forms. You have to come check this place out yourself to fully appreciate the great art that lives here. Photos would not do it justice, although I did get some good shots of the colored fountains on front of the building.
I'll be back to check out more exhibits here, and stay tuned for more.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0 - 25 oct. 2015
One of the Theatres screening movies for your consideration. We've come here a few times and enjoy the nice comfy seats. However the high backs make it hard for little ones to sit anywhere but in the front row to be able to see the screen. Booster seats are available but you know how some kids refuse to use those -- they are for "babies"
Easy parking with lots of space in high rise parking structure.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - 24 déc. 2015
Difficult to figure out where it was because I haven't been in the area before and thought it was the Pacific Design Center... Which appeared closed so I was confused since the time on Yelp! Said it didn't close for another hour. I had to flag down the security guard and ask where the MOCA at PCD was located bc directions had brought me here. He told me to park in the library parking structure which was across the street and had free parking for I think it was up to 2 hours?
I chose to visit on a rainy day and had worn sandals with long jeans so the walk was not ideal, lol... As I was walking up the street I tried looking for the building on my own but wanted to make sure I was headed the right direction and wanted to give them a call to make sure they were still open because I traveled a distance to get there.
Loved the Magdalena Fernandez exhibition! AND I was the only one there to wander around and take it all in the way I would have wanted it.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Eneka C.Woodland Hills, États-Unis168111119019 avr. 2018
I can only review the exterior, as the museum was closed during normal business hours for a special event. Parking was easy enough to snag right in front of the building (metered), however the museum is somewhat behind the building. I was advised by a security guard who was TALKING ON HIS PHONE, to walk all the way around the building. He kind of just gave this hand motion. Not only was his distracted-ness off-putting, but I found it very strange that he wouldn't be aware that the museum was closed before directing me there. Who else should have that information? When I walked back the security guard was still seated and fully engaged in a personal conversation on his cell phone. If PDC cares, this was Saturday 4-14-18 around 11:00 am - 12:00 pm. The building itself is stunning.

*** MOCA's third location, let's call it "MOCA Lite". ***
this exhibit space is 30' x 40' max on the second floor.
the first floor is entrance, a small store and a little study.
it is a separate building but located on the PDC grounds.
current exhibit running 'til 05Jul is entitled "Boolean Valley".
it's a symmetric array of ceramic cones arranged on the floor.
wow, that's really deep ... not. it's just a bunch of cones, c'mon!
imo if space is small then exhibit should be relatively small.
in this case, i think the exhibit needs a little bit more space.
that aside, the ceramics are nice but not museum worthy.
but hey, what could i have expected ... MOCA Lite is free.
*** i look forward to more interesting future exhibits. ***Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0 - Kelsey C.Los Angeles, États-Unis3681310 oct. 2017

Small gallery, two stories, ever-changing exhibits on show.
CLOSED MONDAYS. I went on a Monday at first and was so disappointed at myself for not checking their hours. It's super quiet, mostly empty. Usually, there's a security guard or two, a person at the desk and 2-3 other people in there with you. Great place to drop by and check out whatever exhibition is on after eating at the restaurants. The West Hollywood park and library is also nearby and you can also walk into the PDC and view expensive curated furniture/decor/etc. There's also galleries in the PDC too, but I'm not familiar with the hours there.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rose T.Beverly Hills, États-Unis01212 nov. 2017
How are there so few reviews?? Well, the security guards are for sure not very nice. The art is what you would expect-- something you could probably do yourself, but didn't.
I like the location, but definitely only worth one visit.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jess W.Pasadena, États-Unis7648416011 mars 2017
Came here to see the Rick Owens exhibit. The museum itself is pretty small, with 2 stories and 1 showroom on each story, so there's only so much art it can house.
Bonus: It's free admission! If you're looking for a study break, MOCA Pacific Design Center is a relaxing place to take a quick walk.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ren M.Pasadena, États-Unis38719012728 juil. 2016
This is a very small museum that is an extension of MOCA. It is two stories, and doesn't have much to offer. The staff is very friendly, and behind the front counter there is a small bookstore.
It seems that it's not very busy on a regular basis.
It is kind of hard to find, and is jumbled with another building (or museum?) that is very colorful/beautiful.
I don't think I'll be back unless I want to stand around in air conditioning.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0
