This is a not-to-miss restaurant, conveniently located in Born neighborhood. Take your time. We started with roasted pulled duck with baked figs on Catalan toast, white wine from Emporda, followed by two different salads: lentils with greens, fruit and another with fresh tomatoes, tapenade, sliced onions with a side of smoked salmon. Finally baked lamb and potatoes. We never eat deserts but had to try mata, a curdled milk cheese, somewhat similar to the French fromage blanc with raw wildflower honey from the Pyrenean hills of Empoda. It's all organic and fresh. Need I say more.

I enjoyed the food, but the environment was even better! I had the three different vegetable cannolonis and an orelleta for desert. The cannolonis were delicious. I liked the eggplant and squash ones, but the mushroom one was far too overpowering for my liking. The orelleta was quite tasty, however! It was served with the Catalonian version of jäger and it was very interesting. So so strong, but it was fun to try it! Overall good time, and great service to boot!

Every time I've been here, I've enjoyed excellent, creative and home grown Catalonian food. We had baby rabbit casserole with sweet potato, rosemary and thyme, duck with pears, coca with duck, figs, and caramelised onion, pumpkin and sweet potato soup with truffle shavings.

I visited this restaurant with my girlfriend few months ago. Food was great, they have a signature taste. Even tho I enjoyed the meal very much, attitude of a particular waitress ruined my experience.
Apart from the fact this restaurant has a signature taste in food, they still should bare the importance of polite service.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Membre Qype (muddyb…)Darmstadt, Allemagne411181229 sept. 2008
This is just a joy and a delight. I love eating a selection of bits, rather than a plate of food, so it's really my kind of thing, but it's not everyone's cup of tea. That said, it's always really busy here, so I'm not in a minority.
Origens is actually a small chain of shops and restaurants, that concentrate on Catalan food. You can order some of the dishes to take away. This isn't a linen cloth establishment, but the service is efficient and friendly. There can be a problem getting in though. You might have to go for a walk and come back in an hour.
The menu is a little magazine, (in Spanish and English) that includes some of the recipes, and stories behind your meal and the ingredients, most of which are locally sourced. There's a really wide selection of food, the idea is you order lots of bits. So, the more of you there are, the more you get to taste.
I especially recommend the simple toasted bread slice with tomato (we eat it like this at home now, you basically rub the tomato and garlic on the bread and eat it like that), then try the the stuffed aubergine and the haricot beans with sausage all followed with their delicious creme Catalan.
Basically I can't wait to get back to Barca, just so I can carry on exploring the menu.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Membre Qype (mainze…)Munich, Allemagne0481710 avr. 2010
Nice and always crowded place. It is very difficult to find a place to sit inside, but we got lucky yesterday.
The place is a catalan restaurant with shop and therefore filled with all the good stuff you can buy there to take home with you. Therefore the menu looks more like a brochure.
The food was very good and tasted fresh and natural, which of course is what they claim.
Definitly mostly filled with tourists, but due to its location close to Santa Maria del Mar, it is almost difficult to miss.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Anthony G.Nesconset, États-Unis472153370109 févr. 2015
One if my favorite restaurants in Barcelona. The super friendly staff advised us on what to order and it was awesome. Best was the duck with caramelized onions. For the pretty low price of €18,95 per person for 3 small plates, desert and wine, it's a great deal for an amazing Catalan meal. This place is a must!

Really enjoyed this place! It's hard to find places that have a large vegetarian option in Europe. This place had all fresh food that tasted amazing! Had soul, salad and the stuffed eggplant, SO good! Service was quick and very friendly!

Absolutely loved this restaurant! The food tasted both fresh and healthy, and was amazingly delicious. It was especially welcomed after eating a lot of heavy and greasy dinners for the previous days of our vacation.
